These wonderfully colourful little butterflies graced the garden over the summer months. Very photogenic, I got much joy from watching them interact.
They didn't appear to have a favourite plant, appearing as happy on the Hawkweed as the mint. The caterpillars apparently prefer Common Sorrel or Sheep's Sorrel. This butterfly is found across most of the British Isles apart from the uplands of the north.
