These are wonderfully colourful little butterflies that graced the garden over the summer months. Very photogenic, I watched with pleasure their bright forms fluttering about. They didn’t appear to have a favourite plant, appearing as happy on the Hawkweed as the mint…the caterpillars prefer Common Sorrel or Sheep’s Sorrel.
This butterfly is found across most of the British Isles apart from the uplands of the north.
