Redstart (common) male: I was walking up the stairs and spotted this chap sitting on the cable outside the landing window. I carefully backed away down the stairs for my camera and crept back up, in time to capture 3 shots before he flew away.
Although named a Common Redstart, they are sadly no longer so common. This is the only one I have seen. The female was also in the garden but I only saw her from the back, so it took a few years to identify her..
