If your new year resolution is to have a clear up in the garden, do remember to check your leaf piles again for snoozing hedgehogs.
Most hedgehogs will move nests at least once during the winter hibernation period. It's therefore important to check that piles of leaves or other bonfire materials are free of these small mammals.
So, if your new year resolution is to tidy up garden debris with a bonfire, do check you haven’t any hedgehogs sleeping there first!
